Okay. Let's give this whole blog thing a try.
So, if you're reading this, I'm pretty sure you already know that I'm in London this summer! And if you didn't, well SURPRISE! I'm in London!
It's nearly the end of my first week here, and trying to summarize everything that's happened is proving a very difficult task. So I'll try and give a condensed overview. Ready? Me neither. So far we have done a bus tour around the city, stalked the Sherlock filming (I SAW BENEDICT AND MARTIN. IN PERSON. OMG.), visited the British Museum, gone to class (Spy class, guys. It's awesome.), and explored London Town.
The last few days in particular have been really amazing and eventful.
On Tuesday I got to stalk the set of Sherlock. One of the Res Life advisers told us where they were filming, so several dedicated fangirls and I hopped on the Tube to see Benedict and Martin. We were not disappointed. Speedy's Cafe and the door for 221B were some of the first things were saw when we walked up, and shortly after we arrived, so did the stars!
I was completely in shock the entire time, partly because I didn't believe what was happening, and partly because I don't think I was getting quite enough oxygen. It was very overwhelming.
Later in the week, we went to the Museum of London on a field trip for Brit Lit, which I really enjoyed as I love museums, and then after lunch the real adventure happened. A few friends and I got some take-away from Pret and had a picnic in the park when we saw it. Lucifer the demon bird.
Note his beady, red eyes and reptile feet. I'm fairly certain that if we hadn't placated him with bread, he would have tried to eat us instead. And he probably would have succeeded. He was hardcore. We finally fled when the pigeons started dive-bombing us to get Lucifer's bread.
I'm going to wrap up my first post with a picture of my lovely roommate EJ. Hey EJ!
